March Asset Management (March AM) the asset management division of the Spanish March Group, has appointed Jose M. Botella as portfolio manager, InvestmentEurope reveals.
Botella joins March AM from Santander Private Banking (SPB), where he worked as senior portfolio manager having joined in 2013. At Santander Private Banking he was responsible – among other roles – for managing the portfolio of EM funds of the entity in Spain and also for the management of SPB’s Sicavs, investment funds and portfolios. During his tenure at SPB Spain he also worked as an European equity analyst and was also a specialist responsible for the asset allocation of equity in Emerging Markets.
Prior to his work at Santander Private Banking, Botella served as a portfolio manager at the former Portuguese bank Banif Gestión, currently Santander AM after being purchased by Banco Santander for €150m at the end of 2015.
At Banif, Botella was responsible for managing a portfolio of Emerging Markets funds, alongside other portfolios of pension plans, Sicavs and investment funds. He also worked as an European and Spanish equity analyst focusing on the tech sector.
The portfolio manager previously held various roles at different entities including that of investment manager at Sodigei and Lloys Banking Group, where he served as a financial adviser.
March AM, established in 2000, is the asset management arm of the Group March, which currently manages €7.3bn in assets and specialises in global equity, EUR fixed income and tactical allocation of assets.
