Carmignac has appointed David Older as fund manager of Carmignac Investissement and Edouard Carmignac as co-fund manager of Carmignac Patrimoine.
David Older, originally an expert in global technology, telecommunications and media, joined Carmignac in 2015 as senior fund manager. In early 2017, he became the head of the equity team. He is also part of the CIO team created by Edouard Carmignac. This is where the most experienced portfolio managers, such as Rose Ouahba, Frédéric Leroux and Didier Saint-Georges, gather.
Older is Carmignac Investissement’s fund manager with effect from Friday and will manage Carmignac Patrimoine’s equity portfolio. His many years of experience in alpha generation have already had a very positive impact on global equity portfolios. Since the markets remain very challenging, Older’s ability to leverage his team of seasoned analysts and fund managers will be a critical and sustainable source of alpha generation for Carmignac Investissement and Carmignac Patrimoine’s equity side.
As CIO and co-fund manager of Carmignac Patrimoine, Edouard Carmignac will focus on the entire strategic asset allocation. He will draw on the cross-asset unit, which was last strengthened by senior economist Raphael Gallardo. Rose Ouahba’s experience and skills at the forefront of the fixed-income team will continue to guide the fund safely through one of history’s most challenging bond markets.
