Spain’s Banco Popular has issued a senior bond for a total of €500m, a five-year maturity and 2% coupon.
Banco Popular also said that the bond issue has met the favour of both international investors – 74% of subscriptions – and national investor – 26%.
As per the international investors, the UK topped the subscriber list taking up to 44% of total investments. Italy followed with 15% and Portugal with 7%.
So far, the senior bond issue has received 83 orders, 62% of which came from fund managers; 23% from banks and 11% from pension funds and insurance companies.
In 2014, Banco Popular issued a total of some €2bn in financial instruments, the bank also said.
