Alan Edwards (pictured) has joined Julius Baer’s London office as a Senior Relationship Manager with the rank of Managing Director Senior Adviser.
He will focus on developing Julius Baer’s business in the North West region of the UK, and will report to David Durlacher, head of Relationship Management.
Edwards has more than 30 years’ experience in relationship management and advising high and ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices and foundations.
He was Regional Centre Head for Manchester, and Liverpool and previously also led the Leeds office at Barclays Wealth, overseeing the teams of bankers in these locations.
The business, under Edwards’ leadership, became the top in Barclays Wealth for net asset acquisition and revenue growth, Julius Baer highlighted.
He was also responsible for key client relationships in the region and led the growth of the Barclays business since 2009.
Prior to that, Alan was head of Private Banking for the North East business of Coutts & Co., where he led their top-performing Leeds and Newcastle business while managing a book of key ultra-high net worth clients.
Adam Horowitz, head of the Julius Baer business in the UK, said: “I am very excited that someone of Alan’s stature and experience has joined Julius Baer at this critical point in our growth in the UK. There has been significant wealth creation over recent decades in the North West and Julius Baer is committed to bringing the new reference in wealth management to the region”.
Formerly, Edwards was head of Wealth for Northern England at HSBC, and led the top producing team in their UK business.
