Italian banking group UniCredit has appointed Jean Pierre Mustier as chief executive officer as from 12 July, succeeding Federico Ghizzoni.
Mustier currently holds a role of partner at Tikehau Capital and member of the board of directors of Alitalia.
Previously, he has been deputy general manager and head of Corporate & Investment Banking Division at Unicredit from 2011 to 2014.
He started his career at Société Générale where he held a number of positions, primarily within the corporate and investment banking from 1987 to 2009.
In 2003 he was appointed as head of Corporate & Investment Banking Division at Société Générale and member of the bank’s executive committee.
The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
