After one year since the opening of its Italian office, Paris-based Rothschild & Cie Gestion has strengthened its Italian team with the hire of Paule Ansoleaga Abascal (pictured) as Business Development manager
Ansoleaga Abascal has been covering the Italian market for the last eight years. Between 2007 and 2011 she has worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Markets team as head of institutional clients in Southern Europe, including asset manager and private banks.
In January 2012 she moved to Lugano, where she worked as Marekting and Relationship manager at Banca Zarattini, covering both Italian and Swiss clients.
Rothschild & Cie Gestion aims at growing its asset management business in Italy through long-term relationship building, the company said.
Alessio Coppola, Italy country head, said: “We believe that Paule’s hire will speed up our activities in Italy significantly. During our first year of business in Italy we have scored significant results, including the partnership with Zurich and the development of our institutional client base.”
Coppola also acknowledged that the Italian market is a particularly challenging one, but said the French asset manager aims at targeting retail clients by the end of the year through distribution agreements with the major local banks.
