Skandia Vita, Italy’s largest provider of unit-linked funds, has signed a deal to distribute AllianceBernstein’s Luxembourg domiciled funds on its investment platform.
The platform is used by some 25 financial adviser networks, 15 regional banks and hundreds of independent brokers and insurance agents across Italy.
AllianceBernstein’s funds can be integrated into Skandia Vita’s unit-linked investment plans, which are increasingly being sought for retirement and wealth planning.
Massimo Dalla Vedova, director of Financial Institutions at AllianceBernstein in Italy, said: “This agreement with Skandia Vita represents further progress in our strategy to grow our presence in the Italian retail market. Italian investors are increasingly seeking global investment opportunities and our award winning funds, with proven track records through market cycles, can meet their needs.”
“Being on Skandia’s platform provides financial advisors with another important channel to access AllianceBernstein’s funds for their clients; especially for those who want to include these as part of a unit-linked insurance portfolio.”
Alessandro Simonini, CIO at Skandia Vita, said: “We believe that detailed research and rigorous selection of new investment ideas and successful management styles are key to providing a market-leading offering. That is why we continuously monitor the available funds in the market to give our customers the best choice and flexibility in their portfolio construction. With this agreement with AllianceBernstein, we can offer wider diversification of funds on our platform and better cater to the needs of our customers.”
