Crédit Agricole appoints new head of private banking

Crédit Agricole has appointed Olivier Toussaint as chief executive of its private banking subsidiary, Banque de Gestion Privée Indosuez, to replace Hervé Catala who will become chairman of Crédit Agricole’s management board.

Crédit Agricole has appointed Olivier Toussaint as chief executive of its private banking subsidiary, Banque de Gestion Privée Indosuez, to replace Hervé Catala who will become chairman of Crédit Agricole’s management board.

The decisions were made following a meeting of the board of directors of Crédit Agricole (Suisse) and that of Banque de Gestion Privée Indosuez on November 10 and 15 respectively.

Toussaint joined Banque Indosuez in 1984 and in 1999 became chief executive of Crédit Agricole Indosuez in Milan. Since he has held a number of chief executive roles at Crédit Agricole.

Catala joined Banque Indosuez in 1980 and in 1999 he joined the private banking business at Crédit Agricole Indosuez as director and chief executive of Crédit Foncier de Monaco. Catala has been chief executive of Banque de Gestion Privée Indosuez since 2007.

The Banque de Gestion Privée Indosuez has €23bn of assets under management and its main clients include family offices, entrepreneurs and businesses.

It was formed in 1999 following a merger of Crédit Agricole’s private banking activities with those of the Banque de Gestion Privée and teams from Crédit Agricole Indosuez Cheuvreux Gestion.
