The 0.75% rate of French public savings accounts Livret A will remain unchanged until its next review in February 2017, the French government announced.
It followed a recommendation issued earlier by the Banque de France.
Livret A’s rate, currently at its historic low, was expected to be trimmed at 0.5% in August. Its calculation formula will be redefined in February.
The French government said the rate of PEL (ownership savings schemes) will be cut to 1% from 1.5% as from 1 August 2016.
