Swiss group Migros Bank has hired Christoph Sax as chief economist, effective 1 February 2017.
Sax’s appointment to this newly created position follows changes made in the group’s investment operations. At the start of 2017, Migros Bank has created an investment division that will run its investment activities and asset management services.
Sax will join this new division which reports directly to Migros Bank’s CEO.
Sax joins from the Luzerner Kantonal Bank where he was a senior economist and deputy head of Research since 2011. Prior to that, he has been senior economist and deputy head of the Macroeconomic Support Unit at the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco).
Migros Bank had CHF33.5bn (€31.4bn) of assets under management as at 31 December 2016.
