Columbia Threadneedle Investments has announced its credit absolute return fund focusing on global investment grade corporate opportunities, launched last 27 March, is now available to French investors.
The Threadneedle (Lux) Global Investment Grade Credit Opportunities fund relies on a similar approach to that of the Threadneedle Credit Opportunities fund and is co-managed by Alasdair Ross and Ryan Staszewski.
Ross holds the role of head of Investment Grade Credit, EMEA while London-based Staszewski is senior investment grade portfolio manager and a leading portfolio manager on European strategic bond funds of Columbia Threadneedle in Europe.
Ross said: “Our approach to managing credit strategies is grounded in intensive fundamental research and has enabled the team to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns through the cycle. Our approach is validated by a long and successful track record of producing strong risk-adjusted returns in traditional long-only and absolute return credit strategies. The investment grade section of the Threadneedle Credit Opportunities fund has delivered over half of this fund’s performance since its inception over eight years ago.”
Eléonard Buono, head of France and Monaco at Columbia Threadneedle, added: “The launch of this absolute return fund seems opportune to us given where we are in the economic and credit cycle. The long-term approach of the fund, relying on a global research and management framework, enables the necessary flexibility to the team to deploy its investment resources in the global credit market and deliver risk-adjusted robust performances independently of the market direction.
“The Threadneedle Credit Opportunities fund has been partially closed to new investors in 2016 and we are convinced that the combined know-how of Alasdair and Ryan will allow us to continue designing pertinent solutions for our clients.”
In addition to France, the Luxembourg-domiciled fund is registered for distribution in Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands. It will be further registered in new countries.
