The Danish fund boutique Jyske Capital expands its team in the core market of Germany. Thomas Brand will be responsible for sales for institutional clients for the Frankfurt am Main location from 1 April 2017.
“With the new appointment of Thomas Brand, we are taking the logical next step in the expansion of our activities in the German market. Together with Thomas – who has a broad network in the industry – we will intensify our institutional business in the medium term,” commented Henning Mortensen, head of Jyske Capital.
“We are focusing on the German-speaking market, as well as on Sweden and Norway, outside our home market. In order to continue growing there, we recently launched four SICAV funds.”
“As a legal form, SICAV gives us an entirely new opportunity as an asset manager to meet the needs of institutional investors, whether they are tailor-made investment solutions or special funds,” said Thomas Brand, senior relationship manager at Jyske Capital.
“In addition, I am attracted by the range of possibilities that a boutique-style character in the low-interest and challenging markets brings with it. Freedom of action and a good foundation for assets under management, which enables us to effectively manage asset classes, from global equities, corporate bonds and niches, such as Danish mortgage bonds to balanced multi-asset products.”
Brand comes from Société Générale, where he was responsible for institutional sales with a focus on financial institutions, insurance companies, pension funds and corporate investors. Other professional positions were Siemens Financial Services, Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen and Citibank.
Jyske Capital expanded its sales structures in the core market of Germany in January and hired sales specialist Thomas Justen. Jyske Capital is currently managing around €20bn worth of assets, with an upward trend.
