Paris-headquartered AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has announced the hiring of Alessandro Tentori as chief investment officer for Italy.
He will be based in Milan as part of the global research & investment strategy team led by Laurence Boone, global head of Research and Multi-Asset Client Solutions at AXA IM.
Tentori joins from Citigroup London, were he served five years as managing director and head of International Interest Rates Strategy. Formerly he was a European interest rates strategist at BNP Paribas before being appointed chief strategist for Europe. He also had roles at Hypovereinsbank and Bank Austria.
Commenting on the appointment, Pietro Martorella, managing director of AXA IM Italy, said: “Recruiting a CIO with the calibre and experience of Alessandro Tentori highlights the strategic importance of the Italian market to AXA IM and our commitment to grow the team in Italy in order to provide even greater support to our clients and partners here in Italy.”
Boone, global head of Research and Multi-Asset Client Solutions at AXA IM, added: “I am very much looking forward to welcoming Alessandro to the team. With his extensive knowledge of rates, central banks and European bank regulation he will be a great asset to the team and help to further strengthen our research, strategy and asset allocation capabilities in Italy and beyond.”
AXA IM had around €735bn of assets under management as of end of June 2017.
