Insight Investment adds one to EM debt team
London-headquartered asset manager Insight Investment has appointed Darren Louis as portfolio manager within its emerging market debt team.
Louis is based in London and reports to Colm McDonagh, head of Emerging Markets. In his new position, he will contribute to Insight’s expanding suite of strategies that include absolute return, total return and corporate debt investment grade and high yield.
Louis has around 20 years’ experience in trading emerging market hard currency sovereign/corporate external debt as well as local market bonds, currencies, interest rates and other money market products, having worked for Deutsche Bank, UBS and most recently Morgan Stanley.
McDonagh said: “The EMD investment universe continues to evolve and deepen, creating more opportunities for our clients to diversify their asset portfolios through the very dynamic and less index-constrained strategies that Insight has long favoured.
“Darren’s extensive experience, both long and short, across the entire range of EM asset classes in hard and local currency makes him well positioned to help execute these strategies on behalf of our clients. His appointment reflects the importance of this discipline within our fixed income capability and we are pleased to welcome him to Insight.”
Louis’ hire follows that of investment analyst Solena Gloaguen who recently joined the firm as an emerging market banks specialist.
Insight’s global fixed income team is responsible for £110.6bn (€128.6bn) in assets under management.
