Schroders has launched investIQ, a portal aimed at offering retail investors an insight into how their emotions affect investment decisions.
The portal was launched in response to a recent Schroders investor survey, which revealed that a majority of retail investors would like to have more access to investor education.
It offers retail investors an eight-minute survey in order to classify what type of investor they are. Participants subsequently receive a detailed report assessing their strengths and weaknesses.
Schroders has developed the test in cooperation with Decision Technology, a behavioural science consultancy bureau based in London.
Hein Kuipers, director Retail Markets Netherlands at Schroders comments:”We want to play a more prominent role in the education of retail investors, which is why we have launched this platform. We noticed that there is growing demand among retail investors to increase awareness of their own, often subconscious, behavioural patterns. In a time where investing for the future becomes increasingly important, we want to prevent that investors with insufficient knowledge are rushed into important investment decisions” he stresses.
