Fidelity International (Fidelity) has appointed Hugh Prendergast to the newly-created position of global head of product.
Prendergast (pictured), who will be reporting to global head of Asset Management Bart Grenier from 19 February, will bring together and lead Fidelity’s product teams based around the world, as well as being responsible for further developing the company’s global product strategy.
With over 20 years’ experience, Prendergast joins Fidelity from Pioneer Investments, where he worked for the last 16 years as head of Strategic Product & Marketing – where he led the product development and marketing functions for Europe, LatAm, US offshore and Asia.
Bart Grenier, global head of Asset Management at Fidelity International, said: “The needs of our clients are becoming ever more complex and it is critical that we continue to innovate when it comes to products and solutions to meet these needs. Prendergast will play a pivotal role in helping Fidelity continue to move forward in its ambition to offer the best investment solutions to attract and retain clients.”
Fidelity International had £77.4bn (€88.14 bn) in assets under administration as of the end of December 2017.
