MFS Investment Management has appointed Owen Murfin as institutional portfolio manager within the London-based fixed income team. Reporting to Pilar Gomez-Bravo, director of Fixed Income – Europe, Murfin will be part of the investment team and will focus on working with clients predominantly in relation to MFS’ Global Credit and Aggregate strategies.
With over 20 years in the industry, Murfin joins MFS from BlackRock, where he spent 15 years as a fixed income portfolio manager. In this role, he was jointly responsible for a fundamental fixed income business that encompassed a wide range of global government, aggregate, credit and investment mandates. Prior to that, Murfin spent five years with Goldman Sachs Asset Management as portfolio manager and credit analyst.
