Kieran Curtis has joined Standard Life Investments’ emerging market debt team from his previous role as director head of Local Currency Emerging Market Bonds at UK manager Aviva Investors.
Curtis joins SLI as investment director for EMD – reporting to Richard House, head of EMD – and is responsible for research and development into emerging market local currency debt.
Curtis’ appointment brings to 27 the number of people in SLI’s fixed income team, responsible for managing more than £72bn in global government and corporate bond strategies across the credit spectrum.
The EMD team has grown to four members, with SLI launching its Emerging Market Debt Fund in October 2012.
Euan Munro, head of Multi Asset Investing and Fixed Income at SLI, said: “Kieran is an experienced fund manager with a strong performance track record. As well as having extensive experience in the EMD sector which will prove invaluable to us, he adds considerably to what is already a strong and talented emerging market fixed income research capability. Kieran’s appointment will also enrich the many global fixed income and multi-asset strategies that are run by Standard Life Investments.”
