Henrik Stenson, winner of the 2016 Open Championship, has joined Stefan Edberg – winner of nine Grand Slam championships – and Nicklas Lidström – Hockey Hall of Fame member and winner of four Stanley Cups – as part owner of Case, the independent Swedish asset manager.
Case offers equity, fixed income, money market and alternative strategies as well as advice and discretionary management services to a client base that typically constitutes high net worth individuals, sports stars and entrepreneurs.
Its Safe Play fund won an award from Morningstar earlier this year in a fixed income category, while the Power Play active equity fund was added to the Swedish Pensions Agency operated PPM platform in June.
Headquartered in Stockholm, Case was co-founded in 2004 by Edberg, while Lidström joined in 2015.
Johan Andrassy, managing director of Case, said that all three sports stars had been good at managing their respective ‘brands’, and that the integrity and professionalism associated with these would help Case going forward.
