Berner Kantonalbank (BEKB) has appointed Armin Brun as the new CEO and chairman of the BEKB executive board following a comprehensive selection process.
Brun, currently head of the Private and Corporate Clients Department, will take up the new position on 1 July 2019 and will succeed Hanspeter Rüfenacht, who will give up the operational management of the bank on schedule and resign from the Executive Board, as announced in August 2018.
Brun has been a member of the BEKB management since 1 January 2018. Together with the management, he should position the bank even more strongly in future as a customer-oriented, digitally progressive and sustainably successful bank.
The board of directors has nominated Alois Schärli as deputy chairman of the executive board. Schärli joined BEKB in 2003 as head of Finance and has been a member of the executive board since 2010 as CFO.
