Global investment manager Schroders has expanded its Iberian business with the appointment of Francisco Neto as the account manager for Spain and Portugal in a move designed to boost the company's business in Southern Europe.
Neto joins a team led by Carla Bergareche and will report directly to Mario Pires, director of the firm's institutional channel and the Portuguese market.
Schroders' new hire worked previously at various global entities including Crédit Agricole, where he was part of the distribution team of the company's investment banking division in Madrid for two years. He also worked at BNP Paribas Securities Services as a settlements analyst based in Lisbon.
Carla Bergareche, general director of Schroders for Spain and Portugal, said: "With this addition Schroders confirms its commitments to the institutional channel and the Portuguese market.
"Neto's arrival will strengthen both areas. We believe his knowledge and experience will provide great value to our clients while increasing the diversity and the knowledge in our team".
