Italian DEPObank has appointed Fabrizio Viola as managing director six months after having launched as a result of the transfer of Nexi's Group banking activities.
Paolo Tadini, a veteran manager in the sector, has been appointed as the bank's president.
Viola was CEO of Banca Mps from 2012 to 2016. He was later appointed CEO of Banca Popolare Vicenza and then liquidator of Vicenza and Veneto Banca following the orderly liquidation of the two institutions.
DEPObank was launched in July 2018 as the main Italian depository bank, specialised in securities services and in the banking payment services. It offers global custody services to more than 400 clients, including Italian banks, mutual funds, pension funds, public administration and corporate.
Over the last year, the bank has held the role of custodian for over €60bn of assets under management and has brokered a number equal to approximately 600 million of collection and payment transactions.
