Hooplot Associates, the Dutch marketing consultancy that works with asset managers to improve their marketing, has been acquired by Fundamental Media, a UK headquartered media consultancy that specialises in the fund management industry.
Hooplot provides market research and advisory services to international asset managers, with a view to boosting their distribution, marketing and sales. Founder Vincent Hooplot said the deal would provide opportunities to add scale, as well as new distribution technology to its overall offering.
For Fundamental Media, the deal is expected to add research and market insights - such as identifying distribution challenges created by industry trends of falling fees, focus on cost efficiency and need to keep up with new technology and data requirements - to its existing research capabilities and intelligence on media, which it offers customers globally.
