Vanguard has expanded its Italian team with the appointment of Marco Tabanella as senior sales executive and deputy country head for Italy.
Tabanella, who will be reporting to the firm's country head in Italy Simone Rosti, joins Vanguard from BlackRock, where he was director and head of wealth & retail clients iShares Italy, after having held roles at the firm's ETF sales department and as a business support analyst.
Simone Rosti, country head Italy at Vanguard, said: "This appointment underlines our commitment to the Italian market and represents a further step towards achieving Vanguard's objective of simplifying investments for Italian investors and reducing costs."
Tabanella's appointment follows the listing of the first 19 ETFs from Vanguard on the Italian Stock Exchange, which took place on 18 January marking its official entry on the Italian market. As of December 2018, Vanguard managed assets of $4.9bn on behalf of over 20 million investors globally, offering a range of mutual funds and ETFs indexed and actively managed.
