InvestmentEurope's Iberian Summit is taking place in Barcelona on the 30 and 31 of May, hosting around 50 fund selector delegates from Spain, Portugal, and Andorra for two days of presentations.
Those presenting at the event include WisdomTree, Artisan Partners, Eurizon Capital SGR, Mirabaud Asset Management, Polar Capital, Gesiuris Asset Management, State Street Global Advisors, BMO, and Gabelli Funds.
Collectively they will be covering a wide range of topics ranging from traditional asset classes including fixed income and equities, to alternative type asset classes, absolute return, emerging market themes/funds, and ESG.
In addition to these boardroom sessions the event includes a keynote speaker conference on venture capital, a panel discussion on alternative investments, a second plenary session on ESG and gender equality, and some more group activities aimed at fostering networking among the participants.
Credit Suisse Spain's Íñigo Iturriaga is moderating the panel, in which Inversis Gestión' senior analyst Alejandro Allona, Fernando Sánchez Santidrián, head of alternative investments at Caixabank AM, and Guilherme Onofre, head of fund selection at the Portuguese bank Caixagest, will be discussing on the asset class in a time in which investors' willingness to consider alternative assets has gained impetus by the era of ultra-low interest rates.
The event has also counted with both the CFA Society Spain and Portugal branches as its educational partner which, through an ongoing series of events for investment practitioners, offers a range of educational opportunities while facilitates the open exchange of information and opinions among investment professionals.
InvestmentEurope will be tweeting live from the event and a full event report will appear in the next issue of the magazine.
