The Zurich Cantonal Council has elected the Bank Council and the Bank Presidency of the Zürcher Kantonalbank for the new legislature. Roger Liebi (SVP), who joined the bank council of the Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) in July 2018, was elected to the bank council of the Zürcher Kantonalbank. He succeeds Bruno Dobler (SVP), who retires after two legislatures.
Bettina Furrer (GLP) elected to the Bank Council. She is an environmental scientist (ETH) and worked in various capacities for UBS prior to her scientific work. Most recently, she was responsible for the global corporate responsibility strategy of the bank. Furrer then moved to the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur, where she was responsible for the Institute for Sustainable Development from 2012 onwards.
The Bank Presidium consists of Jörg Müller-Ganz and János Blum and former Bankrat members Amr Abdelaziz, René Huber, Henrich Kisker, Mark Roth, Peter Ruff, Walter Schoch, Anita Sigg, Rolf Walther and Stefan Wirth. At the constituent meeting on 27 June 2019, the new Bank Council elects the President of the Bank and his deputy, as well as the members of the committees and committees.
Roger Liebi is a longtime banker and certified board member SAQ and managing director of Roger Liebi Management & Consulting, which specialises in executive search and consulting for SMEs and listed companies as well as sports management. He began his career at UBS, then Roger Liebi u.a. is a senior executive at Credit Suisse and Nordea Bank. From 2002 to 2017, he was a member of the Municipal Council of the City of Zurich and, from 2015 to 2018, a member of the Cantonal Council, whose Committee for Economic Affairs and Taxes (WAK) he presided. He is a member of the Audit and IT Committee of the Zürcher Kantonalbank.
Bettina Furrer is a member of the Board of Directors of Technopark Winterthur and member of the extended Energy Research Commission of the Swiss Academies of Arts a +. From 2017 to mid-2019, she was also a member of the Sustainability Advisory Council of Basler Kantonalbank & Bank Cler. From 2012 to mid-2018, she headed the Institute for Sustainable Development of the ZHAW School of Engineering. Previously, she was a lecturer at the ZHAW and wrote her dissertation on "Corporate Climate Strategies and their Determinants - An Analysis of Banks' Responses to Climate Change" at ETH Zurich. Before working as a scientist, Furrer held various positions at UBS Group AG in the field of corporate responsibility.
