Spanish manager Fidentiis Gestión is entering the Portuguese market through a distribution agreement it has signed with the Portuguese bank Banco Best.
Through the deal, Portuguese investors will have access to four funds of the Spanish manager, of which two are invested in Iberian assets.
"The Spanish boutique enters Portugal through Banco Best, with a long-term strategy that seeks to outperform the equity markets in Spain and Portugal, but also with a long / short fund, which seeks to generate positive (alpha) returns under any market conditions," said Banco Best in a statement.
The note also said that the following funds will be available on the Portuguese funds platform:
Fidentiis Tordesillas SICAV - Iberia: It is a long only fund that does not use derivatives and invests in Portuguese and Spanish companies. Since the beginning the fund is up by 6.40%.
Fidentiis Tordesillas SICAV - Iberia Long-Short: This fund takes short and long positions in stocks of the Spanish and Portuguese markets. It focuses on stock picking while seeking to mitigate the volatility of the portfolio.
Fidentiis Tordesillas SICAV - Global Strategy: This strategy invests in global stocks and bonds. Its objective is the preservation of capital, maintaining portfolio volatility between 4% to 5%.
Fidentiis Tordesillas SICAV - European Financial Opportunities: This fund invests in the European financial sector, offering investors the possibility to invest in all types of bank capital structures and exposure to complex insurance companies. It invests in instruments such as shares or subordinated debt.
Fidentiis Gestión was set up in 2006 by Ricardo Seixas. The manager focuses on the investment opportunities of Iberia (Spain and Portugal) and currently manages €350m in assets.
