Mapfre AM, the asset management division of the Spanish insurance giant Mapfre has poached Eduardo Ripollés from Trea AM for a newly-created role.
The firm has appointed Ripollés as institutional sales director, to be reporting directly to Álvaro Anguita, Mapfre AM's chief executive officer.
Ripollés, with around two decades' experience in the industry, joins Mapfre from the Spanish boutique Trea Asset Management, where he has been business development and institutional clients director for the last five years and half. He combined that role with that of director of the firm's office in Madrid, holding also responsibilities for its sales and marketing teams.
Prior to his time at Trea, Ripollés worked at UBI Banca International in Spain, where he was in charge of its business development while focusing mostly on the bank's products and services in Luxembourg.
