Pimco has hired Nick Granger as managing director and portfolio manager Quantitative Analytics, effectice first quarter of 2020.
He will be based at Pimco's headquarters in Newport Beach and will report to Mihir Worah, managing director and CIO Asset Allocation and Real Return.
In this role, Granger will lead Pimco's quantitative team and work closely with the more than 255 portfolio managers. He will focus on optimising Pimco's use of quantitative strategies, as well as managing portfolios and servicing clients.
Granger joins Pimco from Man Group in the UK where he is chief investment officer for Man AHL as well as member of the Executive Committee of the Man Group was. He was portfolio manager of the Man AHL Systematic multi-strategy program and previously co-head of the research department as well deputy CIO. He made his move to Man AHL in 2008, originally as head of the systematic volatility trading strategies of the company, and later oversaw the asset classes cross-border Research for the entire Man Group.
