Impax AM expands policy expertise with new appointment
Impax Asset Management has announced the appointment of Chris Dodwell to the newly created role of head of Policy & Advocacy, effective 2 December 2019.
He will report directly to Ian Simm, Founder and CEO of Impax Asset Management.
Dodwell is a climate change and environmental policy expert with over 25 years' public and private sector experience. Throughout his career he has specialised in the financing and delivery of climate action in the UK and overseas.
He joins Impax from Ricardo plc where he was director of Climate Change, Clean Growth and Strategic Partnerships, and responsible for overseeing key projects in these areas as well as building relationships with clients in the public and financial services sectors.
Dodwell and his team advised more than 15 countries on their national climate targets and action plans under the Paris Agreement and launched the Climate Finance Accelerator, a UK Government-funded initiative aimed at mobilising private sector finance for climate action. Prior to joining Ricardo, Dodwell worked for 10 years at the heart of the UK Government's work on climate change. He held senior roles including leading the UK's implementation of the EU Emissions Trading System and headed the UK Delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
