BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking (BNP Paribas CIB) has appointed José Placido ashead of Financial Institutions Coverage, in addition to his existing role as global head of Client Development & Strategy for BNP Paribas Securities Services.

He will replace Henri Foch, who retires at the end of June and will take up its new duties on 1st July 2015. Placido will report to Patrick Colle, CEO of BNP Paribas Securities Services.

Before joining BNP Paribas Securities Services in 2014, Placido was CEO of RBC Investor Services and RBC Dexia Investor Services.

Yann Gérardin, global head of CIB, said: “José will play a key role in continuing to develop close and long-term relationships between BNP Paribas and financial institutions.

“His appointment reflects our ambition to focus on the needs of institutional clients, providing them with a comprehensive range of solutions to grow their business and adapt to changes in the global financial markets.

“This was one of the key reasons for aligning Securities Services within CIB last year and today’s announcement reinforces this strategy.”
