French bancassureurs association elects new chairman

The French bancassureurs association, Groupement français des bancassureurs, has elected Pierre de Villeneuve, chairman and CEO of BNP Paribas Cardif as its new chairman for two years.

He succeeds to Jérôme Grivet, who has been recently appointed as deputy CEO in charge of the Credit Agricole group finance.

De Villeneuve has supported the development of BNP Paribas’ insurance business since its launch in 1973.

He has been a member of the executive committee since 2004 and was deputy CEO of BNP Paribas Cardif before being appointed chairman and CEO in 2013.
