Skagen launches global equity fund

Norwegian asset manager Skagen has announced the launch of Skagen Focus, a new concentrated global equity fund focused on small and medium sized enterprises.

The fund, which will be jointly managed by Filip Weintraub who recently returned to the firm and Jonas Edholm. It will be launched on 26 May. Weintraub has been responsible for the Skagen Global Fund between 2001 and 2010.

Edholm joins Skagen from Labrusca Family Office in Sweden, prior to that, he worked among others for Lundmark & Co Fondförvaltning and Mangold Fonder.

The new Skagen Focus fund will consist of a portfolio of 35 companies, in line with the firm’s investment philosophy, it will focus on businsses which Skagen considers to be undervalued and under researched.

It will also be unconstrained from its reference index, the MSCI AC World.
