Investment research provider Morningstar has announced the appointment of Stefano Petracca as CEO for Morningstar Switzerland, and Frédéric Vallé as head of Business Development for Morningstar Switzerland.

Both will be based in Zurich and are appointed with immediate effect.

Petracca replaces Mark Roomans, who was appointed as CEO for Morningstar UK in January 2015. Petracca joined Morningstar in 2005 as Sales Director for the firm’s Swiss operations and has successfully developed Morningstar’s business in Switzerland and in the broader European market.

In 2013, his role expanded to include responsibility for business development for Morningstar’s private banking client markets in Europe, and in 2014 he added responsibilities for Morningstar’s sales operations in Germany and Austria.

Vallé joins Morningstar in 2010 as sales director for Morningstar Switzerland. He previously held several sales and business development positions at Thomson Reuters in France and Switzerland.

“Stefano’s business development acumen, strong client relationships, and extensive experience in the region serve as an excellent foundation to help drive Morningstar’s growth in Switzerland,” Bevin Desmond, Head of Global Markets for Morningstar, said.

“Frédéric has been a key contributor to Morningstar’s success in Switzerland through the high calibre of service he has provided to our clients. I am excited to welcome him to Switzerland’s leadership team,” Desmond added.
