UK-based Newton Investment Management, part of BNY Mellon, has appointed Elizabeth Para as UK institutional business development manager.

Joining a team of 14 employees, she will be responsible for building new client relationships and driving Newton’s presence in the corporate and local authority pensions market.

Para was hitherto working at Fundsmith focusing on institutional sales and consultant relations. Formerly, she held roles in fixed income and currency business development at State Street Global Advisors, BNP Paribas Investment Partners and Alliance Bernstein.

In February, Newton appointed Catherine Booth as UK institutional business development manager, who joined from Barings. At Barings, she was a member of the institutional sales team responsible for distributing funds to institutional clients, with a specialist focus on multi-asset strategies.
